International Clearinghouse for Birth Defects Surveillance and Research The International Clearinghouse for Birth Defects Surveillance and Research (ICBDSR - or Clearinghouse in short) is a voluntary non profit International Organisation affiliated with WHO. The Organisation brings together birth defect surveillance and research programmes from around the world with the aim of investigating and preventing birth defects and lessening the impact of their consequences.
Institute of Human Genetics - National Institutes of Health University of the Philippines Manila The Institute of Human Genetics (IHG) began in 1990 as the Medical Genetics Unit of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine which in 1999 became as one of the service and research oriented institutes of the National Institutes of Health-University of the Philippines Manila (NIH-UP). Since then all services of the Medical Genetics Unit were transferred to the Institute and is now the largest provider of genetic services in the country.
Volunteer Youth Leaders for Health - Philippines VYLH-Philippines is a national collaboration of youth leaders of youth organizations in universities and communities in the Philippines. This novel undertaking is part of an international effort to establish the March of Dimes - Global Network for Maternal and Infant Health (GNMIH)participated by youth counterparts in China and Lebanon linked by the common interest of volunteerism and public service, to improve birth outcomes worldwide through advocacy.
Newborn Screening Reference Center - National Institutes of Health, UP Manila RA 9288 or the Newborn Screening Act of 2004 mandates the National Institutes of Health, University of the Philippines to create the Newborn Screening Reference Center (NSRC). The NSRC is responsible for the national testing database and case registries, training, technical assistance and continuing education for laboratory staff in all Newborn Screening Centers. The NSRC is also responsible for the Quality Assurance of the National Comprehensive Newborn Screening System of the Country. It also provides technical assistance to the DOH-NIH network in reaching the ultimate goal of screening Filipino newborns for common life-threatening heritable disorders.
